Rainy, Raw Tuesday Ahead

Rain will continue for a good portion of our NW Indiana Tuesday as two areas of low pressure clip the Region before heading east. With our northeast wind and clouds, temps will struggle to get out of the upper 40s–some 20 degrees below average for this time of year. A good book is needed today! On & Off Rain Today

Showers will come and go today with a few rumbles of thunder possible as a boundary between spring-like air to our south and cooler, winter-like air to the north sets up. That boundary will set up right over the Region with a large spread in temperatures. We’ll likely stay in the 40s and 50s in our northwestern locations. Meanwhile our temps will surge into the 60s for those south and west depending on how far north that front can make it. Continue reading On & Off Rain Today

Several Rounds of Rain/Storms Through Saturday Night

A frontal boundary is sagging to the south this afternoon (Thursday) and will stall and eventually lift back north as a warm front late Saturday. While it remains stalled, several waves of low pressure will roll along that boundary bringing periods of rain and storms in between dry hours. Our temps will also be on a roller coaster with a surge of warmth expected late Saturday before we return to cooler air Sunday. Snow, Wintry Mix, and Rain On The Way

It’s January. After a quiet winter so far, it shouldn’t be surprising that we’re actually going to get some snow and ice. Yes, we’ll see some problems, but we’re from the Region–we can handle this. A smorgasbord of precipitation is heading our way with our well-advertised storm system that will impact a large majority of the eastern US. It all begins this evening with a period of moderate snow.
