MORE STORMS TODAY

Life threatening flash flooding is occurring in eastern Indiana as storms continue SIT and produce heavy rain over the same areas. Some locations are approaching 10 inches of rain since this pattern flipped a few days ago. Locally, the rain has largely avoided the Region overnight outside of one quick downpour that moved through this morning.

Our attention will once again turn towards the west where storms are gathering in Iowa. We know this drill too well–these will likely form into a larger cluster that will roll through Illinois this morning and into Indiana and the Region late morning into early afternoon. Heavy rain and another round of damaging winds would be the primary risk. The signal isn’t quite as clear today as to how “bad” these storms will be, but given the amount of power outages, cell phone outages, and damage in the Region–we want to continue to stay out ahead of this to get the word out about our potential severe storm threat later this morning into early afternoon!
