Good Thursday morning everyone! With all this moisture in place from the rain and high dewpoint air–we have widespread fog. The fog is thickest away from the lakeshore with visibility down near zero in spots! Our visibility will gradually improve this morning as we turn our attention to yet another complex of storms coming out of Iowa this morning.

NEXT ROUND OF STORMS

Yesterday’s storms have pushed the frontal boundary downstate. Storms with damaging winds are AGAIN moving through Iowa and will have eyes on Illinois and eventually Indiana by lunchtime.

The good news for us–the severe storms will stay JUST south of us with this round as they stay tied to the front and the instability axis south of us. I DO expect us to get some rain off of these.

Once these storms move through, the flow looks to strengthen out of the Gulf this afternoon and evening. As a result, this frontal boundary will likely produce a band of rain and rumbles with heavy rain somewhere in the Region. This band of rain may just sit over the same areas later today into tonight so flooding will become a big threat. It’s unclear exactly where this develops, but we’ll be in the potential zone of this event and with all the recent rain–it won’t take much to produce flooding. We’ll keep you updated.
