I know it’s only Monday, but we’re seeing some good signs that the pattern may be ready to flip in the 7-10 day timeframe–and rightfully so! It’s almost mid-October and temperatures have been feeling anything but October-like! Let’s take a look…
STRONG SW FLOW KEEPING US MILD:
These beautiful, warm days can be attributed to the ridge in the southeast helping to bring a steady diet of air from Texas and the SW. As a result? We’re near 80 instead of our average in the 60s.
RIDGE BEGINS TO BREAK DOWN LATE THIS WEEK:
See how the jetstream becomes a little “flatter” later this week? This will help that cooler air to our west translate eastward as a storm system develops in the Plains at the transition point.
COOLER AIR LIKELY TO START NEXT WEEK:
A storm system will likely bring storms at some point this weekend, but it also brings a dose of fall-like air back to NW Indiana sometime early next week. Just how long it lasts in still in question, but temps may struggle to get out of the 50s–a start contrast to our near 80 degree temps today.
