Winter Storm Timeline

Lots going on over the next 48 hours to say the least! Wind and warmth will give way to showers later today. Rain will become heavy at times tonight and changeover to a scattered wintry mix Thursday morning as temps fall. We’re still thinking we’ll get a bit of a break during the morning before a period of mix to heavy snow moves in Thursday midday-Thursday night. Our forecast totals remained unchanged despite much higher totals coming in on some of the modeling–we’re thinking 4-8 inches for the entire Region–all falling Thursday into early Friday. Overnight Lake Effect Snow

OVERNIGHT LAKE SNOW UPDATE: Lake effect snow showers continue to fill in across the region ranging from light snow in Lake County to light snow with on and off bursts of moderate snow in Porter, Starke, and especially LaPorte County. That heavy band of lake effect snow has developed in Michigan as we chatted about during our Region Weather LIVE and it’s making its way through South Bend producing a narrow band of near whiteout conditions.
