Air Quality Update, Storms Late Today

IMPROVING AIR QUALITY TODAY

Good morning everyone! Air quality isn’t great this morning but will continue to improve as our flow turns more southwesterly. There is heavy rain over the fires this morning in Canada and beyond today, this shouldn’t be an issue the rest of the week. This southwest flow today will give way to late day storms–we’ll have the latest update in our next post.

This smoke will clear out ahead of our front–which will bring a severe weather threat to our north this afternoon. We’ll inherit the leftover storms off of boundary that will likely develop off of the afternoon/evening storms to our northwest–late this evening into tonight. Timing is all over the place in the modeling, and some even keep us completely dry. Regardless, we’re going to keep a close eye on any storm development late this evening into tonight as they’ll have the potential to produce heavy rain, a lot of lightning, and areas of damaging winds–much like our last round with the last front.

Behind this front, we’ll bring in an AMAZING airmass Wednesday through Friday with low humidity, comfortable temps, and lots of sunshine!
