MIDDAY STORM UPDATE
Our line of strong to severe storms continues to push east through the Region with an initial hit of very heavy rain and strong, potentially damaging winds. The strongest of the winds are moving through eastern Porter and Jasper counties heading INTO LaPorte and Starke counties–and we’ve already seen wind damage from these storms in areas to the west. Once this initial hit moves through, it’s just rain and lightning. We’ve eventually quiet down with more storms firing to the south. These southern storms this afternoon will keep the clouds flowing in–so high temps as we mentioned this morning will stay in the 70s, but the mugginess will not go away until mid-week. We’ll be done with the severe weather for the day though.
