The Storm Prediction Center has updated the severe threat areas a bit based on latest trends and have upgraded portions of Iowa and Illinois as well as Arkansas and Mississippi to the rare “High Risk” category where tornadoes are likely in those zones.
This will be a dangerous afternoon ahead of those folks. The map immediately below shows the tornado risk–notice how it drops off as you get closer to the Region but there’s still a risk. This continues to be in line with our earlier forecasts–so nothing has changed but visually this is what the threat level looks like going into the afternoon and evening.
Updates to come!
