What a system. While the snow has moved out, the strong winds and bitter cold temps will continue. We’re still expecting the strongest winds from this event to occur today as the low pressure deepens and drives 40-50 mph gusts across the Region. Temps won’t do much today–they are in the -5 to -10 degree range right now (which is incredible) and combined with the wind, we’ll have feels like temps in the -25 to -35 range all day. Lake effect snow will make a return (it’s light this morning out east) bringing more steady snow back into LaPorte County and portions of Porter County today with several additional inches of snow there–we’re still thinking 6-12 total with a few higher amounts possible in northern LaPorte County. Regardless, blizzard conditions are expected in those locations with blowing and drifting snow continuing elsewhere.
