This cold air continues to funnel in over the warmer lake waters and when we do that for a prolonged period we get lake effect snow that lasts until the cold air goes away!

Areas near Buffalo and in Upstate New York near Watertown are expecting 40-60 inches of snow before this is all said and done as intense lake effect bands run the length of the lakes bringing them some serious snow. The Cleveland Browns vs Buffalo Bills game this Sunday has been moved to Detroit as a result! Not unheard of, but this is a big event even for Buffalo!
