Yesterday’s storms were on the leading edge of the HEAT which will really be felt today and tomorrow across the Region with soaring temps and the thickest humidity of the season so far. We’re going to crush our record high in Valparaiso of 92 degrees set back in 2017 as we’re expecting highs in the upper 90s. Peak heat indices occur today as they reach near 110 at times this afternoon before falling a few degrees tomorrow. Please stay hydrated, wear light-weight, light-colored clothing, and just stay out of the heat if possible. It’s a good idea to take care of the neighbors and check on any elderly folks in and around you–this heat can be more dangerous than severe weather.
