High pressure will settle in briefly today providing lighter winds and lots of sunshine. There’s a large shield of freezing fog just to our west that will likely keep a pocket of cooler temps in place in central Illinois. Combined with our dense snowpack, our temps will probably stay below guidance so we’re staying in the upper 20s for much of NWI today.

Our next system works in tomorrow and we’re expecting a rain/snow mix to change to all snow before ending. We’ll detail the timing and local impacts in our next update!
