That hazy look to our sky from wildfires 1500 miles away will continue today, but some relief is in sight if you’re missing that bright blue look to the sky. While we won’t see any impacts down here at the surface with air quality–the smoke isn’t too far up relatively speaking. Most of the smoke is lofted between 6000 and 18000 feet in the air!
While the western wildfires continue to burn and push smoke thousands of miles away into the eastern US, there is some relief coming to our local skies as a cold front pushes through the Region. Those clear blue skies should return the next few days as our flow of air comes out of northern Canada, but that hazy look will likely return next week out ahead of another storm system.
