Sun Returns, Cool Wind Today

Our departing area of low pressure will give way to decreasing clouds and a cool breeze off the lake today. Highs will struggle to reach 50 by the lake, but will easily reach into the upper 50s to near 60 further south. Expect mainly clear skies and COLD conditions tonight leading to areas of FROST. Last Accumulating Snow of the Season?

An area of low pressure will head up from the southwest bringing an area of moisture into our currently colder airmass. The result will be a period of sloppy rain/wet snow, some of which will produce a slushy accumulation later Sunday into Sunday night and early Monday morning. As you’d expect this time of year, we’ll be dealing with big ole wet snowflakes with this one and if the snowfall rate can be heavy enough–we’ll likely see some slushy accumulation, especially on elevated or grassy surfaces. Snow Possible Saturday

A friendly reminder: winter is still here We still get snow. Our temps fluctuate more and more this time of year as the battle between the colder air to the north and the warm, humid air to the south begins to set up. We definitely have that set up this week with bouts of 60s and brief periods of 30s/40s. This is Spring. Signs of Spring Next 10-15 Days

As we say goodbye to our latest arctic fling with highs in the 20s the last two days, we’ll welcome in a quick rebound in temps for our NW Indiana Sunday. A dome of warm air will move in out ahead of a carving trough of low pressure in the western US. The result will be high temps that surge back into the 50s with increasing clouds.
