Atmospheric Smoke Is Back…

ATMOSPHERIC SMOKE RETURNS

It’s back. Almost every summer we deal with smoke in our skies from distant wildfires at some point–and here we go. Multiple wildfires are burning in southwestern Ontario–just north of Lake Superior. While we have some haze from these currently, the flow will turn more northwesterly behind a backdoor front tomorrow into Thursday bringing some of this atmospheric smoke to the Region. The result? Hazy skies with a milky white look to them and those vivid red sunrises and sunsets. At this point, I expect it to remain lofted in the atmosphere with little to no impacts here at the surface.
