Good Friday morning! Are you excited for the weekend? Weather-wise we have a real GEM coming our way–but instead of talking about falling leaves and pumpkin spice, we’re looking at summer heat and humidity. On top of that, our drought continues to expand here in the Region. The latest drought monitor is out and well, this is easy. When it doesn’t rain, the drought gets worse.

And that’s where we find ourselves after another week of dry weather our drought across the state has expanding to cover 67% of the state.

For us in the Region specifically, we’re back in the “abnormally dry” category–not technically a drought, but our trees, shrubs, and lawns are all feeling the stress. Our next shot at rain is still on track for late next Monday into Tuesday.
