The Next 7 Days: Watching Remnants of Francine

A quiet weather pattern continues this week as we turn our attention to the tropics. Francine should be a hurricane later today and is expected to make landfall west of New Orleans sometime tomorrow. We’ll then track the remnants of Francine northward towards the Region. The same high pressure bringing us sunshine now will play a key role in where Francine ends up. There will be a battle between drier air pushing in and the moisture pushing north–we continue to think the bulk of the remnants unfortunately will stay south of the Region. We all know we could use the rain–but I wouldn’t count on it locally from Francine as of now. We’ll keep you posted. Outside of that, please enjoy this stretch of weather–there’s always a quick switch to an active, highly variable pattern once we end the month and begin October!
