Wildfire Smoke Returns

that atmospheric smoke is back in our Indiana skies. Wildfires burning from Nevada to Oregon into Idaho are putting out tremendous amounts of smoke. This smoke rises and becomes lofted into the atmosphere–well above the surface. The jetstream then blows this atmospheric smoke all around the eastern US depending on the wind direction. As this smoke passes over the Region, it creates a sky that’s not blue, but white and if it’s thick enough the sky becomes a whitish gray. These aren’t clouds, but rather smoke–and it looks to stick with us for much of the upcoming week!
