Happy 2024 everyone! As we enter the month of January, we continue to foresee a pattern change that will bring a series of strong storm systems through the eastern US–likely producing a whole spectrum of weather from severe weather to the south, heavy rain and wind on the warm side of these systems, and heavy snow and wind on the back side of these storm systems. Where we fall on all of that remains to be seen, but in the near-term we won’t have much if any snow this week. A system will dive south across the eastern Great Lakes Wednesday into Thursday kicking off some light lake effect snow–otherwise we wait for the upcoming weekend into the following week for the beginning of that series of storm systems to kick off!
