3 confirmed tornadoes so far in and around the Region from Friday evening’s storms–all from the storm we were tracking LIVE in Benton County that clipped southeastern Jasper County near Remington. That storm produced an EF-2 tornado in Benton County near Fowler before moving into the Remington area as an EF-1 tornado (winds between 86-110 mph). The National Weather Service will survey the damage in Merrillville as well as Valparaiso over the next few days to determine if it was a tornado or straight-line winds that caused the damage in those communities.
