Good Saturday morning everyone–what an evening yesterday. As expected, there are numerous reports of wind damage all across the Region, the most significant (thanks to your reports) occurring in Merrillville with damage to structures, power poles, and power lines. While the damage may look like tornado damage, it’s important to note that the National Weather Service always needs to survey the damage first before confirming if it was a tornado or powerful straight-line winds (that can produce damage that looks like it was a tornado). Until then, the tornado is not confirmed.
