Our next storm system rolls in later today with all rain initially as temps head into the low to mid 40s. As temps cool and some colder air gets dragged into the system later this evening, our rain will begin to mix with and changeover to some wet snow. We could see some decent snowfall rates late this evening into tonight, but as we talked about in our Region Weather LIVE broadcast last night, I’m not expecting this to be a big deal. Slick travel is possible overnight into early Friday morning, but a general 1-3 inches of wet snow looks likely with this one for our northern counties (Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Strake) with a slushy coating to an inch for our southern counties (Newton, Jasper).
