We’re keeping close tabs on a line of strong to severe storms sinking southeast through northern Illinois as of 5:00pm. The main question is whether or not these storms hold together and reach into northwest Indiana, but we still have some time before they even reach the Chicago area. Our local atmosphere is certainly supportive of severe weather with the heat and humidity outside–many locations topped 90 degrees this afternoon and there’s no shortage of instability! We’re here tracking these storms and will pass along updates as needed this evening.
