The latest drought monitor was released today and as expected, our drought has worsened across the Hoosier State. Last week, 43.6% of the state was in the abnormally dry drought class (level 1 out of 5) and this week it’s expanded to 87.57% of the state. The moderate drought category (level 2 out of 5) has expanded across the state as well, going from 2.4% last week to 9.5% this week.
Locally, we need anywhere from 3-5 inches of rain to get us back to where we should be. As we mentioned last night on our broadcast, we DO have increased rain chances, not just Friday, but next week
