OBSERVED TORNADO DOWN BY LAFAYETTE:

The storms well south of us are holding their own with the strongest storm producing an observed tornado near Wingate heading towards Lafayette. I do NOT anticipate this tornado warned storm to reach the Region at the level it is right now. We have a more stable airmass in place in addition to rain breaking out on the northern end of this storm that will help to further stabilize the atmosphere locally. It still needs watched, and we’ll do that and will pass along updates as needed.
