As we mentioned in our Sunday evening Region Weather LIVE broadcast, much colder air will dive south into the US helping to spin up a large storm system Friday into Saturday. The track and intensity of this system will continue to change over the next few days, but model guidance has locked in on a track further east as of today (Monday).
This would bring the strip of heavy snow through the Ohio Valley into interior New England with some lake effect and perhaps a few snow showers for us locally. If you have travel plans anywhere east or southeast of here, you’ll want to closely monitor this one.
Still a storm to watch locally–but if this storm does indeed go east of us, we’ll still have much colder air and lake effect to deal with Friday into Saturday. We’ll pass along updates on this system as we go throughout the week!
