A storm system will approach from the southwest this weekend and will brush by NWI with a chance of rain that could very much mix with wet snow at the onset Saturday night into Sunday morning before it pushes east.

Temps will struggle to get out of the mid 40s Saturday with cloud cover stubbornly hanging on as this system develops. We’ll turn slightly cooler Sunday with highs in the low 40s. Temps will be in the 30s Saturday night into Sunday morning so any precip that falls could mix with some wet snow. As that precip falls through a layer of dry air, it may actually COOL the temps further (evaporational cooling) which may change any rain/snow over to just wet snow in spots before everything changes to rain during the day Sunday.

While this system isn’t a big deal at all, it’s certainly one that will be interesting to watch. We’ll keep you updated!
