Today’s Severe Thunderstorm Threat

Good Thursday morning everyone! We had a few storms overnight along a warm front and our attention will turn towards this afternoon.

Showers and a few storms are expected to fire along and ahead of a cold front that will push through the Region this afternoon into the evening hours. The real juice with this storm system will be south of us with severe weather likely downstate including the risk of tornadoes.

For us locally, I’m not too concerned about severe weather, but with a frontal boundary in play, we’ll need to keep an eye on any “squirrelly” storms that get going…but my overall concern is low.

Behind this, we’ll turn much colder tonight and Friday with some snow back in the forecast tomorrow and for the upcoming weekend. It was nice while it lasted! We’ll keep an eye on the radar for you today and will pass along any updates as needed.
