TRASH DAY? WE’RE SORRY.
This strong wind has done a number on unsecured holiday decor and trash cans as gusts have gone over 50mph at times overnight. Top wind gusts include a 63mph wind in Michigan City, 56mph in Valparaiso, and a 47mph gust in Gary! Our wind will slowly back off today as the strong low pulls away. This wind has also pruned some of our area trees. If you have any trees or large branches down our good friends over at T & T Tree Service can help you out–they specialize in dangerous removals using modern equipment and they’re just great to work with in general. Call them at 219-300-6256 for that cleanup!

In terms of the forecast today, we have widespread snow showers and gusty winds that are making it tricky this morning all across the Region, but manageable as we’re not expecting a lot of snow from this round. Snow showers should begin to back off later this morning and will become mainly lake effect snow in eastern Porter and LaPorte Counties where a few additional inches are possible through tonight. Our other issue–the wind–will begin to slowly back off today as the strong low pressure pulls away. Those of you with headaches or migraines with this powerful low pressure will begin to also feel some relief later today. Temps hold in the 20s all day!
