Next Up: Weekend Clipper Systems

The cold air is locked in for the next 6 days with an upcoming shot of arctic air this weekend. Ahead of this arctic air, we’ll have two clipper systems that zip along the southern base of the polar airmass to our north. Both systems look to miss us just to the south as of now, but we’ll likely see a few snow showers and some lake snows to the east as the cold air reinforces itself over the Great Lakes. The first system zips through downstate Thursday evening into Friday bringing a narrow area of 2-5 inches of snow. If you have travel plans late Thursday into the day Friday south of Indy, you’ll encounter some disruptive snow. The second system comes through Saturday into Sunday and may travel a bit further north. We’re still expecting the bulk of any impacts to be just south of us, but we’ll need to keep an eye on this one.
