First Snow On The Way: An Early Look

AN EARLY LOOK AT OUR UPCOMING SNOW

Good Thursday morning to you everyone! We have two mild days in store before our weekend storm system moves in bringing a two day shot of Winter. Snowfall totals are what everyone wants to know and we’re getting close to detailing how much and where–but it’s still too soon. Why? Lake effect snow is going to be our primary snowmaker with this one, not the system itself. As you know if you’ve lived here long enough, lake effect snow waffles back and forth based on the exact direction of the wind and available moisture–all information that isn’t 100% accurate this far out. However, there’s potential for a decent band of heavy snow to target northwest Indiana with this setup (we discussed the north wind option last Sunday in our LIVE broadcast which you can still view). For now, plan for a snowy, cold time Sunday night through early Tuesday. We’ll update you on amounts in the upcoming posts!
