Weekend Rain Timing

A powerful storm system will develop this weekend and will bring rain, wind, and a few storms to the Region Saturday into Sunday. Let’s break down the timing so you can make your plans around it.

Saturday Morning – Afternoon

A frontal boundary will stall over the Region bringing scattered showers and pop up storms. We’ll likely have dry hours in between, but the activity looks to be scattered with equal chances through the afternoon

Saturday Evening – Saturday Night

The powerful low pressure will get going down to our south bringing a slug of moisture with it as it moves north into the Region. We’ll likely have periods of rain and a few rumbles move in sometime Saturday evening into Saturday night. This will be our rainiest period of time.

Sunday

Rain will still be around as the low pressure really gets going. Our winds will ramp up as well with gusts over 40 mph possible Sunday. Temps will be the big story on top of the rain. We’ll go from the 60s during the early morning hours Sunday to the 50s during the morning to the 40s during the afternoon with wind and rain. Yuck! Conditions will begin to improve later in the day–but it will be much colder!

Summary

Saturday evening, Saturday night, Sunday morning look to be the rainiest periods during this upcoming storm system. We’ll have another video update for you Saturday morning!
