Heavy Rain Producing Storms

We were waiting as we sipped our cup of coffee for this line of storms to develop and here we go. A solid line of heavy rain-producing storms continues to track slowly east into northwest Indiana as of this post (3pm CT). These storms have plenty of fuel with copious amounts of moisture and a lot of instability. These storms will impact us through the evening rush hour.

Primary threats are for heavy rain and localized flooding as our dry ground won’t be able to soak it all in at first. There IS a severe threat with these, although not very high. The idea is that damaging winds are possible in a few locations in addition to the heavy rain. We need the rain, but it’s going to come down in a hurry over the next few hours.

We’ll keep tabs on the severe and flooding side and will go LIVE if we see anything major developing, otherwise this is the rain and storm activity we’ve waiting all month for. Literally. First rain of the month.
