Flood Potential Today

Good Wednesday morning everyone–we have a complex of showers and storms to our west this morning. This area of rain and storms will push in later this morning bringing the threat for heavy rainfall and a few rounds of rain through this afternoon depending on how it evolves. The WPC has highlighted the Region for heavy rain and flood potential with Flood Watches issued for NWI and Illinois through tonight.

Behind this front, the wind will kick up out of the northeast later this afternoon into tonight. We’ll continue with gusty winds tomorrow. This will create large waves on Lake Michigan with a high risk of rip currents along our beaches later today through Friday. Not the time to go into the water!

The good side of all of this is that we’ll get a nice break from the thick humidity with our muggymeter going into the comfortable category through the weekend!
