A large plume of atmospheric smoke will linger across the Great Lakes and upper Midwest today including here in the Region. Air quality is poor across a good portion of the Great Lakes with Air Quality Alerts. Locally, we’ll notice a haze and lack of blue skies in this setup and while most of the smoke will remain lofted–those that are sensitive to poor air quality would be best to avoid the outdoors. It’s also a good idea to run that indoor air purifier if you’re able. Skies and smoke will improve mid-week as our wind shifts with a frontal boundary.
