Get ready for a windy and warm day today–we have a warm front that will work through this morning bringing a round of clouds and a few showers. Once this moves through, the wind will pick up and you’ll notice that humidity increasing today! Temps will surge well into the upper 70s and low 80s this afternoon with mainly dry weather.
Storm chances increase later this evening into tonight as a cold front approaches from the west. A tricky forecast in terms of timing due to a strong “cap” in the atmosphere this afternoon. Basically this is a lid on the atmosphere that prevents robust cloud growth needed for storm development. This “cap” is expected to break at some point later this afternoon, but it likely won’t erode everywhere. That being said, storm chances aren’t a guarantee for all locations, but the storms that do develop have a decent chance at being on the stronger side–so as we’ve been saying all week–make sure you’re weather aware later this evening into tonight.
The front settles south of us Saturday and to start Easter Sunday. The result will be much cooler, kind of dreary weather with leftover showers and temps in the 40s lakeside and 50s inland. This entire system comes back at us on Sunday with rain for Easter to be followed by rain and storms chances as the front approaches later Sunday evening into Sunday night.
Enjoy your weekend everyone, we’ll be around for updates as needed so make sure you stay tuned.
