Welcome To April: A Look at the Month Ahead

THE MONTH AHEAD

As we always do at the beginning of the month–let’s get to know it. Where are we now and where are we going in terms of averages. Our average high climbs quite a bit this month with upper 60s for averages by the end of the month. We typically have our first 80+ degree temps this month as well. It’s a rainy month with spring showers bringing…well…more May showers. And yes, we still have just a hint of snow this month which typically melts off quickly with that strong April sun. Finally, we’re still gaining daylight at a good clip with over an hour of additional daylight gain by month’s end. Our sunset to end the month is at 7:45pm with our sunrise getting into the 5am hour–around 5:46am for the sunrise on April 30th.

April can also bring us severe weather as the airmasses battle it out. We’ll see that play out tomorrow–we’ll have a special Region Weather LIVE broadcast tonight at 6pm CT to discuss local timing and impacts. Join us then if you can.
