What to Expect Now – Monday Night: Local Winter Storm Impacts

Don’t expect much. Our forecast remains on track with the northern extent of the snow from this winter storm expected to push into Benton and White counties–just south of our area. We’ll cloud up this morning with a few areas of snow showers developing later today and lingering into tonight. We’re not expecting much if any accumulation from this. Tomorrow (Monday) we’ll be keeping an eye on lake effect snow that will be ongoing in eastern Illinois. As the winds shift behind this winter storm that band of lake effect snow will swing into the Region from Lake and Newton counties into Porter and Jasper counties late Monday into Tuesday morning. We’re still thinking a few inches at best from this. Avoid travel south along I-65 today, tonight, and tomorrow as the core of this storm will occur downstate!
