Arctic Front Moving In: Temp Drop, Strong Winds, and Brief Burst of Snow For Some

Our arctic front is approaching the Chicago area as of 5pm and we’re next! Expect winds to crank up with gusts over 45 mph possible, especially along the lakeshore. Temps will tank as well going from the mid and upper 30s down into the 10s in a matter of hours. We’re seeing bursts of snow, but mainly to our north as this line moves in. Brief snow is still possible in spots with localized reduced visibility for a few minutes as well as a quick coating of snow on area roadways. (not for everyone) Our other issue will be a flash freeze of any residual water on decks, sidewalks, roadways that aren’t treated so keep an eye out for slick spots later this evening into tonight!
