Drought Worsens, Lots of Rain on the Way

A rainy pattern is on the way as a series of low pressure systems will bring waves of rainfall through the Region beginning Sunday through early Wednesday. Before it’s all said and done, we could tally up several inches of much-needed rain by Wednesday. Take a look at what we’re expecting in terms of rain coverage over the next 5 days. Yes, it does look rainy on Election Day, so keep that in mind as you make plans to vote.

The latest drought monitor shows an expansion of the Severe Drought (level 3 out of 5) across much of the Region as we continue to deal with a lack of rainfall. We need anywhere from 3-7 inches of rain to get back to average. The good news is that we have a rainy pattern coming our way Saturday night through Tuesday night with several rounds of rain and rumbles coming our way! Model guidance currently brings anywhere from 1-2 inches of rain through the Region with the potential for higher amounts depending on where the main axis of rain sets up!
