Surge of Record Warmth on the Way

RECORD HIGHS LIKELY THIS WEEK

Good Sunday morning everyone! We all know our average highs are on the way down this time of year–below is a look at just how fast they’re dropping with an average drop of about 3 degrees per week. We also all know that averages don’t mean much here in the Region as we’re typically above or below that number–but it’s a good reference regardless.

Mother Nature is going to go “off-script” this week as we get a surge of warm air driven by strong southwest wind. This will arrive this week out ahead of our well-advertised series of storm systems in the central and northern Plains. We’ll be the recipients of what is likely to be some record-setting warmth this week! Our forecasted highs on Tuesday and Wednesday are right around the 80 degree mark which would break record high marks both days.

Rain and storms are also on the way with this system–we’ll break it all down for you in our Region Weather LIVE broadcast coming up this evening. See you then!
