Drought Worsens Across The State

Good Friday morning everyone! More dry, late summer warmth is in store the next few days as highs push into the 80s with passing high clouds, but little if any rain from the remnants of Francine. After a dry August and now a dry month of September so far, it’s no wonder we’re diving back into drought status across the state. In the past week we’ve gone from 18% of the state in a moderate drought to now over half of the state. With very little prospect for rain locally over the next 7 days, our drought will continue to get worse in the foreseeable future. The good news out of this is that any outdoor plans you may have will not be impacted by the weather!
