The center of this dome of heat over the US will settle right over the Region today leading to air temps in the mid to upper 90s and heat indices (or what it feels like) that will soar into the 105-112 range this afternoon. This will easily be the hottest day of the year in the Region–so make sure you’re taking care of yourself, others, and pets–anywhere with air conditioning is the place to be. In terms of our skies, we’ll have hazy sunshine before some high clouds move in. I’m expecting storms to develop this afternoon into the evening–some of which could be on the strong side.
