Good Sunday morning to you everyone! Another day and another round of storms (or two) are expected today with the first round right on our doorstep this morning! Expect a rather quick hit of storms to move through over the next hour or two with heavy rain, lightning and pockets of stronger wind. Most of this line is not severe, but I’m expecting stronger winds to develop as the storms come off the lake and we have eyes on the severe storm in Illinois that will likely impact southern Lake and most of Newton and Jasper counties with damaging wind potential. All that being said, these will be potent storms for some this morning.

Attention then turns towards this afternoon when yet ANOTHER complex of storms is expected to develop to our west. We’ll likely see another line of strong to severe storms roll through here later this afternoon into the evening. Stay tuned–as we’ve mentioned before, this pattern is highly variable and storms can develop wherever and whenever they want to in this setup. We’ll have eyes on it for you and will pass along the latest.
