Saturday Overnight Storm Update

A line of strong storms continues to make progress in our direction from the northwest and we’re expecting arrival with the main line after midnight. These storms have produced torrential rainfall in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois and will likely bring very heavy rain with them as they move through NWI. There have also been pockets of strong, damaging winds within a few of these storms and that will be our primary threat locally. The good news is that they ARE heading into a slightly more stable environment here in the Region despite our temps in the mid 80s and high dewpoints–so I would expect a gradual weakening trend…but they still have quite a bit of energy and we’ll likely see a heavy rain and damaging wind threat as they move in overnight.
