Happy Sunday and happy Father’s Day to all of our Region dads! The heat has arrived and we’re feeling that humidity increase as well. More of this to come over the entire week as a large dome of heat develops and strengthens over the eastern US. You can see that we’ll be on the western periphery of this heat dome meaning yes, it will be hot around here, but the core of the heat will actually be centered to our east. Temps will likely reach into the low to mid 90s each day this week with humidity making it feel like 100+ at times. The main issue this week is the longevity of the heat–with little relief at night those that don’t have AC or a way to cool themselves will have a hard time. Please plan accordingly this week in relation to outdoor activities, hydration, and checking in on the elderly etc.
