MESSY TUESDAY MORNING COMMUTE
A good Monday afternoon to you everyone! Our winter storm is on its way and nothing has changed from our previous forecasts the last few days (please watch last night’s Region Weather LIVE broadcast for details)…but the main messaging from us continues to be the potential for a messy Tuesday morning commute.
As this system moves in, the precip will initially be snow that arrives this evening into tonight. As the low pressure itself approaches, the snow will ramp up with bursts of heavy, wet snow expected after midnight through about the 5am hour. This will quickly put down several inches of heavy wet snow and given the timing–this is going to put the mess on our Tuesday morning commute.
We’ll gradually changeover to rain by late morning through much of the day before rain changes back to snow late Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. Precip won’t be constant all day with breaks in the action, but gusty winds will be on-going during the event with gusts over 35mph likely.
Per our messaging last night, this won’t be a huge snow-maker for us, but the timing and quick amount of snow tonight into tomorrow morning will cause problems. We’re not expecting a lot of snow on the back side of this system tomorrow night, but additional light accumulations are likely.
Join us for another Region Weather LIVE broadcast tonight at 7pm CT for the latest.
