Winter Shows Up! What To Expect Today:

WINTER SHOWS UP! WHAT TO EXPECT TODAY:

Good Monday morning everyone! Winter decided to show up today! Get ready for one day of this wintry weather today before we quiet down once again for the remainder of the week. Few key points for today:

1. FALLING TEMPS
Temps will be on the decline all day–30s this morning, upper 20s by noon, low 20s late this afternoon and evening. Combined with the wind it will feel more like the single digits and 10s later today. Brr!

2. STRONG GUSTY WINDS
Winds will be howling with this system as it dives south across the Great Lakes. Gusts to 50 mph possible near the lake, 35-45 mph gusts elsewhere. Combined with any bursts of snow, we’ll have some brief tricky travel at times.

3. LAKE EFFECT SNOW
Sct’d bursts of snow this morning will transition to lake effect, mainly east in Porter and LaPorte counties later today with scattered snow showers elsewhere. Few inches of snow can be expected in Porter and LaPorte counties, trace to an inch for everyone else. If traveling east towards South Bend, there will likely be a bullseye of a half a foot (or more) with an organized band of lake snow that gets going there. Keep that in mind if heading east!
