The latest drought monitor is out and as expected we’ve expanded the moderate drought to a good portion of the Hoosier State. Last week, 33% of the state was under a “moderate drought”. This week we have 85% of the state in drought! But the positive side of this is that the Region is fairing much better than the rest of Indiana due to that slow-moving rain we had a few weeks back (that caused flooding in northwestern Lake County). We still could use more rain, but that will be hard to come by in the extended as days of sunshine and fall-time warmth are on the way.
