They may look small, but these storms that have popped along a frontal boundary are packing a compact punch. A few storms are making it into Lake and Porter counties–moving IN from the northwest–with lightning, heavy downpours, and small hail. The biggest storm carries a severe t’storm warning with it to our west in Cook County but will move into Whiting, Calumet City, Hammond, Highland, and Griffith shortly with some larger hail, strong winds, and frequent lightning in addition to very heavy rain. We’ll likely have a severe t’storm warning issued shortly.
